DownloadHPSSPA-TWTAmpTMS has a long history manufacturing High Power Amplifiers (HPAs) leveraging Teledyne's industry-leading TWTs. The product line features outdoor designs and self-contained thermal management systems and includes both ground and airborne configurations for commercial and military applications. Our extensive design, testing and manufacturing capabilities include an 8,500 sq. ft. Class 10,000 Clean Room, 200+ Test & Burn-In stations, and Mil-STD Environmental Test. TMS also provides high voltage power supply integration and testing, phase testing and power combining, and experienced system RF component integration.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Teledyne Microwave Solutions' Ka-band TWTA offers superior RF performance for the satellite uplink data communications market. In addition to its 502W peak power, the amplifier features an integrated linearizer providing 175W linear power at the output flange. Frequency ranges from 27.5 to 30.0 GHz for Commercial, or 30.0 to 31.0 GHz to accommodate military applications.

Antenna mounting improves efficiency by eliminating the need for long runs of expensive, lossy coaxial cables. The TWTA's compact, environmentally sealed housing can reliably handle any harsh outdoor environments.

Radar SSPAs

By combining significant R&D funding with judicious acquisitions of microwave technology leaders, TMS has built a strong portfolio of SSPAs supported by innovative, collaborative engineering and manufacturing teams. Covering 1MHz to 110GHz, from 1W to 10kW, TMS SSPAs include both Pulsed and CW for all markets, from commercial Satcom to military and space qualified platforms.

Amplifiers

TMS uses LDMOS, GaAs, InP & GaN technologies to meet customer's needs, generally producing custom designs to customer specifications. GaN is particularly successful in pulsed applications, with many different amplifier designs available up to 18GHz.

Teledyne pulls on existing module designs to support drive chain and control circuits, hence reserving engineering resources to address critical design of power amplifiers with mechanical and thermal integrity. This enables new design efforts to be completed on time and with reduced risk.

SWaP (Size Weight and Power) have become increasingly more critical in the design of new and legacy systems. TMS has some of the smallest and lowest weight SSPAs on the market. A good example is our 15W Ku-Band SSPA which operates over data-link & Satcom bands with a total weight of less than 0.5 lbs and only 0.5" thick.

TMS also offers its new Solid State High Power Amplifier (SSHPA) product line providing power from 100W at module level to multi kW at system level, in frequency bands ranging from UHF to Ku-Band. These amplifiers utilize state of the art thermal management schemes and unique highly efficient coaxial power combiners to allow designs in smaller form factor with improved reliability.

With 20 years of experience and extensive use of ATE (Automated Test Equipment), TMS is well placed to support our customers' technical and production needs for all SSPAs.
