Teledyne Microwave has over 50 years experience as a worldwide leader in the design, development, and manufacture of microwave components and integrated assemblies. The organization delivers high quality products for the communications, aerospace, defense, aviation, and instrumentation markets. Its military products, some of which were originally designed over 30 years ago, continue to evolve into new applications and sub-systems. New products for both military and commercial applications are designed to meet the most demanding standards with the very best of equipment and facilities. These products employ mixed transmission media for optimal performance and reduced manufacturing cost. These capabilities form the building blocks for ongoing success in developing innovative designs for military applications.
Teledyne Labtech is one of the world's leading manufacturers of microwave circuit solutions with specialist capabilities in design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing across many technologies, product, and market applications from defense electronics and global telecommunications to space and satellite communications. In addition to the organization’s unique low cost MMIC packaging capabilities, its manufacturing specializes in microwave circuit design, components, microwave circuit boards and microwave testing. The organization maintains a laser focus on developing complex, high reliability systems for customers.
As one of the industry pioneers, Teledyne MEC has created numerous metal ceramic Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs) that set the industry benchmark for performance and reliability. These products are field proven in a wide range of demanding markets including airborne, missile, ground mobile, and shipboard ECM, Radar, and Communications markets. TMS also produces complete Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs) and Solid State High Power Amplifiers (SSHPAs), and these state of the art products are found on nearly all major EW, Radar, and Communication platforms of the United States and its allies throughout the world.
Teledyne Cougar designs and manufactures RF and microwave cascadable amplifiers and integrated assemblies for signal processing equipment operating in the 100 kHz to 40 GHz range. Products include VCOs, frequency mixers, threshold and analog detectors, frequency doublers, IQ networks, power dividers, switches, limiters, limiting amplifiers, attenuators, and automatic gain control amplifiers. All products are available in several package configurations including TO-8, TO-8B, surface mount, flatpack, and SMA connectorized packages. These devices are used in sophisticated airborne and satellite communications equipment, navigation and guidance systems, radar and sonar equipment, telemetry electronics, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems, and in high performance commercial test, medical, and industrial equipment.
Teledyne Paradise Datacom is focused on the design, manufacturing, and sale of satellite modems, solid state power amplifiers (SSPA), low noise amplifiers (LNA), block up converters (BUC) and associated redundancy subsystems. Paradise Datacom has delivered products and subsystems for use in satellite communications systems to an extensive list of customers located around the world. Its engineers are constantly seeking the latest technologies and processes, which results in the highest power solid state amplifiers packaged in the smallest and lightest packages, and satellite modems that possess features such as imbedded diagnostics tools that allow “in system” tests to be performed from virtually any location in the world.
Teledyne Defence has provided innovative research, cutting edge development, and manufacture of EW, Radar, and Communications solutions for compact military payloads, homeland security and asset protection. The organization’s broad range of technologies and products allows it to adopt the most suitable technology for each particular application resulting in excellent quality products ready for volume manufacture. Teledyne Defence continues to offer its core expertise in filter and multiplexer products as well as integrated components & subsystems covering DC – 40 GHz. Michael Ryan has over 28 years of experience in the microwave, communications, and aerospace markets. He joined Teledyne in 2009 as the Director of New Business Development of Teledyne’s Microwave Electronic Components (MEC). He became General Manager of MEC in March of 2011. At Teledyne Microwave Solutions, Michael is working on new business opportunities in the field of high power microwave amplifiers based on TWTs while supporting the continued growth of MEC’s core business.
Prior to joining Teledyne, Mr. Ryan was the Vice President and General Manager of Aerodyne Controls. At Aerodyne Controls he developed opportunities for pneumatic systems for military and aerospace programs including the P-3 Sonobouy, Predator Reaper, and SM-3 missile.
Michael holds multiple patents on both microwave materials and new business processes. In addition to degrees in mathematics and history, Mr. Ryan received his B.S. in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the University of Delaware.
John Restivo, General Manager of Teledyne Paradise Datacom, has been with the company since 2003, when he was hired as Head of Business Development and Worldwide Sales for Paradise Datacom. John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology. He has over twenty-five years' experience in the satcoms industry, which commenced in 1986 when he joined the Hughes Aircraft Company as a communications systems engineer. During a 12 year spell at Scientific Atlanta in Georgia; his final appointment was Director of Systems Engineering and Operations before joining Tripoint Global in 1998 as Chief Technical Officer of their $200 million satcoms equipment manufacturer. He then held appointments as Executive VP/General Manager of the Comstream Division of Radyne Comstream before becoming an Executive VP & General Manager of Viasat Inc. in Georgia. In addition to his General Management background, John has gained experience in design, operations, and sales and marketing before joining Paradise Datacom.
Steven Vodoklys is the Teledyne Microwave Solutions Group Controller responsible for providing financial leadership to the organization and ensuring the financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP.
Prior to joining Teledyne Microwave Solutions, Steven served as Vice President of Finance/Group Controller for L3 Communications’ Narda/Miteq operation and the Communication Systems Group for over 6 years. He also served as Vice President/CFO at L3-Communications’ Ocean Systems Group in Sylmar, CA. Before joining L-3, he was a Director in PricewaterhouseCooper’s Financial Advisory Service organization where he was responsible for advising and assisting clients on a wide range of matters relating to GAAP accounting and the Federal procurement processes.
Steven received his Accounting degree from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Tony Radford entered the satellite communications industry in 1979 when he accepted a position in the Cable Communications Division for Scientific Atlanta. During his seventeen year tenure with the company, he added Field Engineer, Project Engineer and Sales Applications Engineer to his list of titles before leaving the company in 1995. With a small group of fellow alumni, he co-founded a satcom systems integration company which was ultimately acquired by STM Wireless in 1998.
Since then, Mr. Radford has served in sales management roles with VertexRSI, Telecom International and Teledyne Paradise Datacom. In addition to identifying and nurturing sales channels around the globe, his experience includes the creation and management of global sales teams and the execution of product marketing campaigns.
Mike England has been General Manager for Teledyne Integrated Assemblies Components and Space. In his role as General Manager he oversees all aspects of managing this RF/Microwave Component company. Prior to being General Manager, Mr. England was Director of Engineering at Teledyne Cougar.
Mr. England joined Teledyne Cougar in 2006 after Teledyne Technologies acquired Cougar Components. Mr. England joined Cougar Components in 2001 and was Engineering Manager overseeing RF/Microwave Component Development. He started his career as a design engineer at Avantek and has held various design, engineering and management positions at Radian Technology, REMEC MAGNUM and REMEC C&S.
England has a MSEE Degree from Santa Clara University and a BSEE Degree from California State University, Chico.
Ian Skiggs has over 30 years of experience in the microwave and RF markets served by TMS, and is currently the General Manager of Teledyne Defence., a business unit of TMS. He first joined Teledyne Defence (formerly Filtronic Defence Ltd.) as Head of Projects in 1997, contributing to the company's ongoing growth in a variety of leadership positions until being appointed as the General Manager in 2012.
Previous to TMS, Ian was Contracts and General Manager for Thermal Engineering International, Marine Division, and he began his career as a Chief Engineer for the Royal Navy. His educational background includes a B.Sc. (Honors) in Engineering, a HNC in Engineering, and an OND in Engineering. Ian is a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors and is a member of the Association of Project Management Professionals (APMP).
Adele Maclachlan has over 25 years experience in the microwave, test & measurement, communications and aerospace markets, initially, commencing her career with Racal as an antenna design engineer.
Adele joined Labtech in 2009 as the Sales & Marketing Director. In 2010 Teledyne Technologies acquired the Intelek group of companies and she accepted the role of Sales & Marketing and General Manager.
Prior to joining Teledyne, Adele has held various engineering, sales, management and director positions at Racal, Marconi instruments, IFR Ltd , K&L Microwave Inc and Pascall Electronics Ltd. Adele holds a Bachelor of Science, Honours in Physics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the UK.
Rich Palilonis joined Teledyne in 2010 as Program Line Manager for Aegis and quickly went on to assume additional management responsibilities for Ka-band and Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier product lines. In 2014 he was appointed Director of New Business Development. Rich has a strong background in Microwave products and working knowledge of Traveling Wave Tubes.
Prior to Teledyne he was the Director of Operations for Heraeus Corporation, a $55M company involved in vapor deposition and sputtering for microwave components. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Spring Garden College in Philadelphia.
For 20 years Sean Souffie has lead Sales teams in a variety of markets related to the manufacture of highly engineered electronic products. He joined Teledyne in 2012 and became Senior Director of Sales for Teledyne Microwave Solutions in 2014. In this role, Mr. Souffie is responsible for the sales organization throughout North America and parts of Asia. His passion revolves around customer satisfaction, team integration, market strategy, and business expansion.
Prior to joining Teledyne, Mr. Souffie held several positions at W. L. Gore & Associates. He began as a Field Sales Engineer focused on the High Performance Computing market, and with early success grew to lead the Sales team and marketing strategy for that business. He then went on to manage the Medical Electronic Products business before his final venture developing a new power electronic product line targeting the Aerospace & Defense industry.
