Capabilities

Manufacturing

Teledyne MEC's manufacturing complex encompasses over 160,000 square feet of space, with 8,500 square feet of that dedicated to our clean manufacturing facility. This facility is a fully-outfitted space equivalent to a Class 10,000 Clean Room. In addition, our manufacturing capabilities include a full in-house Machine Shop, on-site Chemical and Analytical Lab, and expert-staffed Environmental Test, Inspection, and Calibration departments.

With our veteran staff of engineers, machinists, chemists, technicians, and assemblers, and our comprehensive suite of vigorously-maintained equipment, Teledyne MEC is able to quickly assess the needs of a particular project and put into place a timely and successful product plan, from prototyping all the way through to full production.

Machine Shop

Teledyne MEC features a full-capability in-house machine shop staffed with a team of experienced machinists and outfitted with an impressive complement of equipment. Maintained to strict standards, this equipment is capable of holding to the tightest of tolerances. Our machinists, meanwhile, set us apart with their intimate knowledge of our products and processes. This familiarity and experience allows these craftsmen to create tooling and components in real-time, turning a design into a usable prototype often in a single day.

Chemical and Analytical Lab

A critical part of Teledyne MEC's manufacturing success is our complete in-house Chemical and Analytical Lab. The precision processes required in the development and manufacture of TWTs—such as plating, anodizing, and electro-polishing, as well as material analysis—can all be undertaken at our facility under the control and supervision of our expert chemists, technicians and engineers. This on-site presence allows us to react quickly to manufacturing requirements and to refine processes within rigorous schedules.

Inspection Department

The Teledyne MEC Inspection Department includes measurement capabilities to support both incoming and final product inspection. Our inspection lab is equipped with everything from basic inspection hand tools to cutting-edge technologies, such as our DMIS-based Coordinate Measuring Machine, which boasts measurement accuracies of ±0.0002. Our inspection staff has over 125 years of combined inspection expertise, with all senior inspectors certified through the American Society of Quality. All inspections are performed in accordance with ASME Y-14.5 requirements.

Calibration Department

The Calibration Department is equipped to handle a broad scope of calibration duties, from basic mechanical calibration of hand tools to time, temperature, humidity and RF load system calibrations. All calibration is performed in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540, with standards directly traceable to N.I.S.T.

Environmental
